From Fear to Confidence
You're not always going to "feel" confident before you take action. In fact, confidence is like a badge of honor for those who are brave enough to feel the fear and do it anyway.
However, there are a few ways you can break out of paralyzing fear so you can take action and earn your confidence:
1. Recall a past success. When we feel fear, it's usually a sign that we're stepping outside of our comfort zone towards growth. Our subconscious loves keeping us safe and exactly where we are, so it's helpful to "show" your subconscious proof that you're safe to step outside your comfort zone. Visualize your past success as vividly as possible and then visualize how you can move through what you're doing now with the same strength and success.
2. Make sure your beliefs about who you are and what's possible are affirming. So much of our reality is based on the stories we tell ourselves so we might as well make sure those are positive and support our goals.
3. Practice gratitude. Get into a state of gratitude and write out all the things you have that you're grateful for. Then, add the things that you want in your life as if you've already got them. This helps affirm your belief and move you into a positive state for action.
4. Focus on who you serve. When we're afraid, we're mostly thinking about ourselves and what other's will think about us. Get your mind off of you and onto the people you can help. When we focus on our why we have a much easier time taking action.
5. Take quick PHYSICAL action. This is where you earn that badge. Trust yourself and listen to your gut. Confidence comes from doing. Imagine how good you're going to feel after you show up and take action.
